Install Theme

Download your purchased theme ZIP file and extract it. In the extracted folder, you will find another ZIP file called fashionly.zip. The is the file that you need to upload using any of the following 2 methods.

Method 1: Using WordPress Dashboard

This is the recommended and easy way to install the theme. Here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Login to your WordPress admin panel.
2. Now navigate to Appearance -> Themes.
3. Click on Add New button at the top.
4. Click on Upload Theme button.
5. Click on Browse and select the fashionly.zip file from within the extracted folder
6. Click on Install Now button.
7. Wait for the upload process to finish and then click on Activate.

Method 2: Using FTP

If, for any reason, you like to install the theme using FTP, here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Extract the fashionly.zip file into a folder.
2. Sign in to your web server using FTP client.
3. Now upload the extracted folder to /wp-content/themes/ directory.
4. Once the upload process is complete, navigate to Appearance -> Themes.
5. Now look for Fashionly and click on Activate.

All the options to customize this theme are found in Theme Options panel. To access the theme options, go to Dashboard -> Theme Options and start customizing your theme. Theme Options link can be found at bottom left corner of your WordPress dashboard. You can make style changes, change typography settings, control ads and do many more things.

General Settings

In this section, you can change the following settings.

Layout Settings

In this section you can change the layout of theme.

Responsive Layout

Using this option, you can enable or disable the responsive layout. Responsive layout is enabled by default. When this option is disabled, your website will look like its desktop version on mobile devices.

Layout Type

Choose between boxed or wide layout. By default wide layout is enabled. In boxed layout, site content including header and footer is shown in fixed width and is aligned to center. In wide layout, header and footer are spread over full width of screen.

Homepage Layout

Homepage layout option is applied to recent posts shown on front page of your blog. 8 blog styles are available to choose from in this theme. With just a click, you will get different style for your blog.

Archives Layout

Using this option you can change layout of archives pages. Categories, tags, author, month, date, year are all examples of archives pages.

Single Layout

This option is applied to detail posts of your website or blog. You can choose right sidebar, left sidebar or no sidebar layout for detail posts.

Styling Options

In this section, you can make all the changes related to style like text color, background color, border color. All styling options are divided into sections for easy navigation.

Styling options section is further divided into sub-sections.

1. Primary Color

In this section you can change the primary color of theme.

2. Body

In this section you can change body background color and image.

3. Navigation Menu

In this section you can style primary menu, top menu and mobile menu.

4. Header

In this section you can change color and background properites of site header.

5. Content

In this section you can change color and background properites of posts.

6. Sidebar

In this section you can change color and background properites of sidebar.

7. Footer

In this section you can change color and background properites of side footer.

Typography

This section controls the typography options of theme. You can change font family, font size, font weight and other settings related to typography.

Body Font

This option applies to body of the website.

Navigation Menu Font

This option applies to main navigation menu.

Headings Font

This option applies to all the headings of theme.

Post Title Font

This option applies to post title.

Post Content Font

This option applies to content of posts and pages.

Post Meta Font

This option applies to post meta (post author, post comments etc).

Widget Title Font

This option applies to widget titles.

Widget Post Title Font

This option applies to titles of posts shown in sidebar and footer widgets.

Widgets Meta Font

This option applies to post meta of posts shown in sidebar and footer widgets.

Sidebar Widgets Font

This option applies to sidebar widgets text.

Logo Font

This option applies to text logo in header.

Footer Logo Font

This option applies to text logo in footer.

Home

Following options are avaiable for blog page:

1. Latest and Popular Posts

Fashionly theme can show both latest and popular posts on front page in different tabs.

1.1) Latest Posts Title

You can use this option to change the title of latest posts tab.

1.2) Show Popular Posts on Homepage

Click the Yes button if you want to show latest posts on front page. Clicking on Yes button will show the following two options.

1.3) Popular Posts Page

To show popular posts on homepage, you need to create a new page. To create it, go to Pages -> Add New and select Popular Posts template from Page Attributes box.

Now come back to the theme options and look for Popular Posts Page option. Here select the page that you just created.

1.4) Popular Posts Title

You can use this option to change the title of popular posts tab.

2. Home Content

2.1) Show Latest Posts by Category

By default main blog page shows most recent posts of your blog. Choose this option if you want to relpace most recent posts with posts from selected category/categories. When you click the Yes button, you will see option to select the categories.

2.2) Home Content

Choose what you want to show on homepage - Post excerpt or Full post content. By default post excerpt is shown.

2.3) Excerpt Length

Excerpt Length option controls the length of post excerpt shown on blog and archives pages. This option shows only when Excerpt is chosen in Home Content Type option.

3. Post Meta

Use this option to show or hide all or selected post meta items.

4. Share Buttons

In this sub section you can find options related to social share buttons for blog and archives pages.

4.1) Share Buttons

Use this option to show or hide social media share buttons on your posts on blog and archives pages.

4.2) Select Share Buttons

Use this option to select the social share buttons that you want to show on posts. You can also rearrange the position of buttons. Click the checkbox next to button name to show or hide the button and drag the move icon on right side to rearrange the position of button.

Slider

Fashionly has a beautifully designed slider and a featured posts carousel. Both of these can be used to highlight the best posts of your blog. You can also show custom slides in the slider if you don't want to show the posts.

1. Featured Slider

Show Slider

Click the Show button to show the slider and Hide button to hide the slider.

Choose Slider Style

As per your pereference you can choose carousel or slider style.

What to show in slider

You can show custom slides, posts by categories, selected posts or latest posts in slider.

• Custom Slides: When this option is selected slides option will appear.

  • Slides Options: Using this option, you can add custom slides to the slider. Options as shown in following screenshot are available for custom slide.

    

• Posts by Category/Categories: When this option is selected, the following options will appear:

  • Slider Category: Use this option to choose category or categories for slider.
  • Number of Slider Posts: You can control number of posts that you want to show.

• Selected Posts: When selected posts option is chosen the following options appear:

  • Select Posts: Using this option you can manually select the posts for slider.

2. Featured Posts

Fashionly also supports featured posts carousel that can be used to show selected posts in a carousel.

Show Featured Posts on Homepage

Click on Yes button to show the featured posts carousel.

Select Posts

Here you can select the posts that you want to show in carousel.

Featured Posts Title

By default Featured Posts title is shown for this carousel but you can change it with title of your choice.

Header

In this section, you can change settings related to site header. Following options are available:

Header Style

This theme offers 3 different header styles. Move over to this option and choose any header style that you like.

Tagline

Tagline is shown below logo in header of theme. You can use this option to show or hide the tagline.

Search Box

Use this option to show or hide search icon in header. Clicking on this icon opens search box.

Sticky Menu

This theme comes with smart sticky menu. When you scroll downwards, the menu hides itself and when you start scrolling upwards, it appears automatically.

Use this option to enable sticky menu.

Social Links in Header

Use this option to show links to your social profiles in header. When you enable this option, list of social icons is shown. Click on the eye icon on left side of social site name to show that icon. To rearrange the position of social icon, drag and drop the button on right side.

Footer

This section controls the footer area of website. You can change the following settings here.

Footer Widgets

Using this option you can choose to hide the footer widgets area.

Footer Columns

This theme gives you the flexibilty to choose between 1, 2, 3 or 4 columns layout for footer. By default 3 column layout is selected.

Instagram Photos

Using this option you can show instagram photos in footer section of your theme. Clicking on Yes button will open following 2 options.

Instagram User ID

You need to enter your Instagram User ID here. Don't enter your Instagram user name here. Your user name is different from your user ID.

Instagram Access Token

Enter your Instagram Access Token in this option.

Social Links in Footer

Using this option you can show links to your social profiles in footer.

Footer Logo Section

Use this option to show logo section in footer. You can upload your own custom logo and you can also change the background of footer logo section.

Copyright Text

Use this option to edit the copyright text in footer. You can use basic HTML tags here. If you don't want to show anything, remove the whole text and save the settings.

Single Post

Single Post section provides options that applies to detail post page of your blog.

Single Posts Layout

Using this option you can show or hide different post elements and you can also rearrange their position. To hide an element drag that element to disabled side. To rearrange the position of elements, simply drag and drop the elements at respective postions.

Breadcrumbs

Use this option to show or hide breadcrumbs on pages.

Show Featured Content

Use this option to show or hide featured content on posts. Featured content is shown before post content on all posts. Different post formats have different featured content. It is shown in table below:

Border Around Images

By default, this theme shows a border around images added to posts. Using this option, you can turn off the border.

Single Post Meta

Use this option to show or hide the post meta on detail posts. Post meta includes poat author, post date, post category, post tags, post comments count.

Number of Related Posts

Control the number of posts to be shown as related posts.

Filter Related Posts By

You can show related posts by categories, tags or author.

Share Buttons

Use this option to show or hide social media share buttons on your posts to let users easily share your content.

Select Share Buttons

Easily select which share buttons you want to show by clicking on eye button in front of button name. You can also drag and drop the button on right side to rearrange the button position.

Ad Management

This section controls different ad positions and ad blocker feature available in this theme.

Below Post Title Ad

This ad is shown below psot title and before post content on detail post pages.

Below Post Content Ad

This ad is shown below post content on detail post pages.

Sidebar

In Sidebar section, following options are avaiable.

Custom Sidebars

Use this option to create new custom sidebar. Just slide the slider and save the options. After creating the sidebars, you can assign them to different pages in the subsequent options.

Social Profiles

In this section, you can add links to your social profiles. Social icons can be shown in header and footer area of the theme. You can show social links in site header from Header options and to show them in site footer, go to Footer options.

Custom Codes

In this section you can add your custom codes like custom CSS, javascript code.

Custom CSS

If you want to make some CSS changes to your blog or website, you can add your CSS code here.

Header Code

Here you can add your javascript code that you want to add in head section of your website.

Footer JS Code/Tracking Code

Here you can add your javascript code that you want to add in footer section of your website. You can add your Google Analytics code here.

Site Identity

In this section, you can basically change settings related to site's identity and these settings are:

Site Title

You can change your site title here. Site title appears in title bar of the browser and also in place of logo if you haven't added the custom logo.

Tagline

Change your site tagline here.

Site Icon (Favicon)

Change your site icon here. It is also known as favicon and it appears in the page title bar in browser.

Menus

In the menus section, you can create menus, add items to menus, add menus to different locations but we recommend you to do all these from Menus page. Everything about menus is explained in further section in this documentation.

Widgets

In this section, you can add widgets to widgets areas, change options of already added widgets, remove the widgets or reorder the postion of widgets.

To add a widget, go to Widgets section and select any widget area where you want to add the widgets. Now click on Add a Widget and select the widget from widget list.

Static Front Page

When you activate the theme, by default it shows most recent posts. You may want to use a static page as your front page (homepage).

Navigate to Static Front Page section and select the A Static page option. Now select the page from dropdown that you want to set as front page.

Use the Posts page dropdown to change the blog page of your website.

In this section, you will learn about creating navigation menus. WordPress provides an easy to use interface for creating menus. With drag and drop, you can create dropdown menus for your website.

Using a navigation menu involves 3 steps:

1. Creating menu
2. Adding items to menu
3. Assigning menu to a location

Creating Menus

1. Go to Appearance -> Menus on the left side of your WordPress dashboard

   

2. On menus page click on create a new menu link

   

3. Now give your menu a name and then click on Create Menu button.

   

Your new menu has now been created.

Adding Items to a Menu

1. Go to Appearance -> Menus on the left side of your WordPress dashboard

2. On menus page select the menu that you want to edit from dropdown list

   

3. On the left side you will find 4 panels - Pages, Posts, Custom Links and Categories. There is down arrow on right side of each of them. Click on that down arrow to expand the panel and show the pages.

   

4. Select the pages that you want to to add by clicking on checkbox next to each page's title

   

5. Click the Add to Menu button to add your selected pages to menu

   

6. Scroll to bottom of menu editor and look for section called Display location. Now click the checkbox for the location where you want the menu to appear.

   

7. Now click the Save Menu button to save your menu

   

Your menu has now been saved

Creating Multi-level Menus

WordPress makes it easy to create multi-level menus with just drag and drop. Multi-level menus appear as dropdown menus on front end.

1. Hold a menu item and drag it below the parent item

2. Keep it holding and move it slightly to the right

   

3. Release the item

Now repeat the above 3 steps to create as many multi-level menus as you want.

Assigning Menus to Locations

1. Go to Appearance -> Menus.

2. Click on Manage Locations on top left corner of menus page.

   

3. You will pre presented with a list of menu locations and created menus in two columns. Select the menu from dropdown for the location where you want the menu to appear.

   

4. Click the Save Changes button.

Categories and Tags

It is possible to divide posts into categories and tags and you can add categories and tags to posts here. It can be found at right side of post editor.

Featured Image

This theme uses Featured Image option of WordPress to add featured images to posts. To add a featured image to a post, go to Posts -> Add New and you will see a box with title Featured Image at the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on Set featured image to upload an image there.

Standard Post Format

Standard Post Format is the default post format and the options as shown in following screenshot are available for this post format.

Check the Hide Featured Image option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Gallery Post Format

You can choose Gallery Post Format when you want to show some images in gallery format on top of post. Gallery images can be shown in slider or tiled format.

Click on Gallery radio button and the options as shown in following screenshot will appear at bottom of post editor. Upload your images and choose gallery type.

Check the Hide Gallery option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Link Post Format

Link post format is used when you want to add link to another website or to webpage on your own website and you also want to highlight it.

Click on Link radio button and the options as shown in following screenshot will appear at bottom of post editor. Add your link in URL field. You can also change its background color.

Check the Hide Link Box option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Quote Post Format

Quote post format is for publishing quotes. To add a quote, click on Blockquote button in post editor and start writing the quote.

When you click on Quote radio button, the options as shown in following screenshot will appear at bottom of post editor.

Video Post Format

Video post format shows video at the top of post. When you click on Video radio button, the options as shown in following screenshot will appear at bottom of post editor.

To add a video, choose your video host from the dropdown and then add the video ID. For example: In this URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTNMLtDHqmI, the text in bold (RTNMLtDHqmI) is video ID. You can also upload your own video.

Check the Hide Video option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Image Post Format

Image post format is just like standard post format but its featured image can be opened in lightbox when a user clicks on it. You can check the Hide Featured Image option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Status Post Format

Status post format is used to show Twitter or Facebook status at the top of post. Select Twitter or Facebook from Status Type dropdown and add link to your status in Status Link field.

Check the Hide Status option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Audio Post Format

Audio post format can be used to show audio file from Soundcloud or Mixcloud on top of your post. It is also possible to upload your own audio file.

Choose audio file source from Audio File Source dropdown. Then add link to your audio file.

Check the Hide Audio option if you want to hide it from single posts.

Custom Sidebar

Here you can change different sidebar for each post. Select a sidebar while creating the post.

Layout Options

You can change sidebar position of each post that can be different from one set in global layout options. Layout options for posts can be found at the bottom of post editor.
